1. Brief
Canine influenza is also caused by specific viruses of the influenza virus genus. But there are significant differences with human influenza viruses and avian influenza viruses. The Canine Influenza Virus(CIV) Ag Rapid Test card (colloidal gold method) uses rapid immunochromatography technology to detect CIV antigens in nasal or pharyngeal swabs. After adding sample, if there is CIV antigen in the sample, then it binds to the colloidal gold labeled monoclonal antibody against CIV, forming an antigen-antibody complex that moves along the chromatographic membrane, and then binds to the antibody in the testing line area (T), displaying a wine red color; if there is no CIV antigen, then no color reaction.

3. Test Procedure
1). Using a cotton swab to collect samples in the nasal cavity or pharynx. The swab should be inserted into the nasal cavity or pharynx and repeatedly rotated and wiped on the inner wall.
2). Insert the swab into the tube with sample buffer immediately, rotate the swab strongly on tube well for at least 10 times and mix the solution evenly, making the sample been dissolved in sample buffer fully. Press the swab on tube well above the liquid level, making the liquid been pressed out fully, discard swab.
3). Take out test card from sealed bag. Put it on flat surface, use dropper to draw upper-layer bright liquid, drop 5 drops(do not over adding) slowly, one by one, to the sample hole with “S” mark.
4). Put the test card at room temperature for 10-15min, read the result, the result is invalid after 15 minutes.
4. Result judgment
1) Positive: Both on T Line and C line being seen purplish-red color reaction.
2) Negative: no color reaction on Test Line (T Line),only on Control Line(C Line) being seen purplish-red color reaction.
3) Invalid: In the observation window, there are no color lines in the control line area (C) and the testing line area (T); Or only color lines appear in the testing line area (T)., it means the operation is wrong or the test card is invalid, test again.
